Taking Care Of The Caregiver

Taking on the responsibility of becoming the primary support and caregiver to a family member who is suffering from Alzheimer’s is a tough job, and can result in depression, insomnia, and other health risks. An Ohio husband shares his experience of being the primary caregiver to his wife of 46 years. The emotional challenges that he has faced have taught him to grow, and he has stayed supportive of his wife throughout her time of need. Using a marathon mentality, he has the philosphy that he deals with it one mile, and one day at a time.

This segment explores this husband’s story, and also shares some suggestions for other caregivers to keep themselves healthy.
