A memory box is a great tool for people who suffer from Alzheimer’s, or any form of dementia. It’s simple to make, can take any number of forms, and almost always makes a huge difference for the patient and his or her family.

The point of the memory box is to spark fond or important memories, from any stage of life. Simple items like a grandchild’s work of art, a family photo, or an old keepsake can reignite a once-forgotten, happy memory and change the mood of the entire room. When the person with Alzheimer’s feels engaged, which is easy with a tangible box of memories, he or she will feel more important and therefore happier.
