Can You Match These Alzheimer’s Acronyms to Their Definitions?

The medical world is a complex mumbo-jumbo of complicated words that mostly sound like complete balderdash to those of us who aren’t familiar with scientific terminology and doctors’ shorthand. Reading a medical report or bill of any kind these days is practically an art form.

This discrepancy between the words used by health care professionals and the inability of the public to understand that same terminology makes being diagnosed with nearly any disease a scary situation. But being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia is even more frightening, as many people’s ability to remember facts has already gone downhill.

This quiz is meant to be an introduction to the meaning of key acronyms used in Alzheimer’s and dementia diagnoses and treatment. For some of you who already know a lot about Alzheimer’s, it will be a simple memory exercise (which is one good way to help stave off Alzheimer’s). For others, it will be a learning or re-learning activity to help you better understand Alzheimer’s and its treatment options. Either way, we’re glad you’re here!

Click “start” below to begin the quiz and find out how much you know about the acronyms associated with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Good luck! Don’t forget to spread the knowledge by sharing on Facebook!
