Studies have shown that video games can benefit brain function and may help prevent or slow Alzheimer’s. One upcoming game, called Cascade, helps improve cognition by allowing players to fight Alzheimer’s in the virtual world. The goal of Cascade is to protect three-dimensional representations of brain cells from beta amyloids (the proteins that cause Alzheimer’s) using the same techniques that scientists actually use to battle the disease.
