After watching her grandmother suffer the slow onset of Alzheimer’s over 10 years, singer-songwriter Taylor Loren knew that the disease had to be part of their story when she began to write about their relationship. Her video shows ways to interact meaningfully with a person with Alzheimer’s despite the difficulties often faced by caregivers and tells the bittersweet story of her love for her grandmother.

An Alzheimers diagnosis is heartbreaking and deeply frightening, hitting us with the realization that our minds are going to be affected and the inevitable outcome is death – because Alzheimer’s disease is ultimately deadly.
