Move Over, Ice Bucket Challenge: The Egg Crack Challenge Is the New Awareness Campaign

First, there was the Ice Bucket Challenge. But now, There’s the Egg Crack Challenge!

This stunt involves cracking an egg on your head and putting the video on social media where you tag your friends and challenge them to do the same stunt. This might sound a little silly, but it’s for a good cause. In addition to asking your friends to repeat the challenge, it involves making a donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.

The first egg crack came from Will Hauver, a 22-year-old college senior who suffered from Type 1 diabetes and died in early 2015 from flu-related complications. Hauver came up with the idea following the popular Ice Bucket Challenge, and his friends took up the cause after his death, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Watch this video to see how one young man is inspiring people everywhere long after he’s gone.
