A Moving Serenade: College Mover Sings to Retirement Home Resident

There’s something so wonderful and magical about music, isn’t there? It can make us smile, cry, or even laugh. It can bring back memories, connect two souls, and communicate emotions that words in and of themselves simply cannot express.

AJ Carter-Johnson is a college wrestler who works for a company called “College Hunks Hauling Junk.” He tugged the heartstrings of thousands when a video of his soulful performance of Leonard Cohen’s poetical song “Hallelujah” went viral.

AJ performed the song for a woman residing at an assisted living home where he was called to move furniture.

The elderly widow said the song reminded her of her husband who used to play the song and asked AJ to sing it.

As AJ crooned, he took the lady to a pleasant place from her past, while also winning the hearts of everyone who saw the video online.
