Caregiver Confessions: I’m Grieving For My Loved One β€” But They’re Still Here

Several years ago, Leeza Gibbons became a caretaker for her mother after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. She went on to host the online series “Caregiver Confessions”, where she offered advice, tips, and stories of her own.

In this clip, Leeza’s confession is this: “I’m grieving for my loved one β€” but they’re still here.” Leeza was grieving the loss of the vibrant, vivacious woman her mother was when Leeza was growing up. On top of that, she was also experiencing anticipatory grief about losing her mother altogether. She discusses how slowing down, being present in your feelings, and recognizing the different types of grief you’re experiencing are important for dealing with your emotions.
